PICMG/P.R.C was established in Feb 20,1998. With the help of Motorola, PICMG/P.R.C is the executive member in PICMG. PICMG represents PCI Industrial Computer Manufacturers Group and have 400 more members all over the world. Ms. Zhang Qi, governor of electronic product department of Ministry of Information Industry, and Mr. Joe Pavlat, chairman of PICMG celebrated PICMG/P.R.C establishment！

    The goal of PICMG/P.R.C is to co-operatively develop the open standards and expedite the usage of CompactPCI specifications in China. Till now there are 17 executive members and 11 affiliate members in PICMG/P.R.C.

    In order to promote CompactPCI, PICMG/P.R.C hold such activities as seminars, forums, conferences every year. Experts from Adlink, Advantech, Ericsson, Intel, Motorola, NMS, Performance Technologies, StarGen give presentations on the CompactPCI technology.

    In Nov 27, 2002, PICMG/P.R.C held "CompactPCI/PXI Technology Forum" and audience were more than 400. One year later, PICMG extended the agenda in two days, there were 1500 audience attending.

    In 2003, PICMG organized 7 training sessions in Beijing, Shanghai, Xi'an, Chengdu, Shenzhen. 300 engineers joined the training.

    In order to use CompactPCI conveniently, PICMG/P.R.C translate 13 kinds of PICMG specifications into Chinese. And PICMG/P.R.C collect and release 29 technical papers.

    Information industry is not only a fast-growth sector in economy, but also innovate traditional industries. As a leading technology, CompactPCI is becoming more and more important and applied in telecom, automation, aviation, transportation, medical, military areas.

    In July 9,2004, "PICMG/P.R.C conference & Innovation Summit" and in October "CompactPCI/PXI Technology Forum " will be held. There are 5 training courses scheduled in the second half of 2004. Additionally, PICMG/P.R.C upgrade the web site. We believe CompactPCI have a brilliant future.
